Massive Volcano Eruption Triggers Prompt Evacuation of Tourists from Towns & Hotels As Smoke & Glowing Lava Spews Out


Tourists and residents were seen getting evacuated after a massive volcanic eruption took center stage in Iceland.

The incident left both locals and tourists scrambling as the fiery landscape posed a serious threat to those on land nearby.

Dramatic images showed smoke and flows of glowing hot yellow and orange lava coming out of the chasm, which is the latest series of outbreaks near the country’s capital in recent times.

Magma forced through the Earth’s crust opened a huge fissure of length between 700 meters and 1000 meters, as shared by the Met Office today, which served as the first signs of the eruption, giving a scant warning.

So far, it’s not said to be threatening any kind of infrastructure at this moment in time. Depending on the measurements of the GPS and deformation signals, it is most likely that this was a very tiny eruption.

Flights at the airport in the capital of Reykjavik were not impacted, as shown by the page.

Many tourists were evacuated from the popular Blue Lagoon, which is a luxury geothermal spa resort. The city is said to be home to nearly 4000 people, but due to the recent threats of earthquakes and lava flows, it’s been hard to maintain its reputation as a safe travel destination.
