Travis Kelce could be stepping down from his NFL career along with his brother Jason Kelce at the end of this season.

Last week, it was revealed that the Kansas City Chiefs tight end’s brother, Jason Kelce, announced he was quitting football for good following his team’s botched Super Bowl game.

Now, rumors suggesting that Travis could be joining his brother in ending his football career at the end of this season have started circulating the internet.

And while the Chiefs couldn’t be more overjoyed by their 27-24 Super Bowl win, some tough news hit their camp just hours before the match when Michele Tafoya, a former NBC Sunday Night Football sideline reporter, suggested Travis could be putting down his helmet for good.point 229 | 1

“I think Travis Kelce is retiring after this season like his brother, so I think there’s just a ton of motivation there for (the Chiefs to win the Super Bowl) … I think they’re highly motivated,” Tafoya told Marc Ryan of CBS Sports Radio.

While the reporter didn’t reveal his sources, she insisted Travis has other plans for the future that he might consider prioritizing. It is unclear if this is somehow related to his girlfriend Taylor Swift who passionately supported him from the stadium during his Super Bowl games this year.

This comes just days after NFL insider Adam Schefter claimed Philadelphia Eagles’ center Jason Kelce “told his Eagles teammates he’s RETIRING in the locker room after playoff defeat by Tampa Bay.”

Days before his team’s loss to the Buccaneers, Jason spoke out about his uncertain future saying:

“I think it’s been natural the last three seasons for that for me. Whenever you’re older in your career, you never know when that’s going to be. I try to remind guys and my dad has told me this from the moment I started playing football – you step off the curb one day and that could be the end of your career.

“So you try to approach every game with that mindset, but obviously the closer and the older you get to that being a realization, puts it out in front maybe a little bit more. But obviously that’s not the main thing. The main thing is going out there and battling with each of the guys in this locker room.”
