Friends of an extreme sports enthusiast who tragically fell 60 feet to her death from one of the UK’s deadliest mountains were seen watching in horror as she went tumbling through the air.
The victim was identified as 28 year old influencer, Maria Eftimova, whose friends claimed had an insatiable thirst for life and exploring the world’s greatest beauty.
She joined a Facebook group that went hiking up a 3000-foot Snowdonia peak.
The thrill seeker who had close to 10,000 followers on social media was said to be an experienced climber who recently finished an ice climbing course in Norway.
But sadly, the engineering student ended up losing her footing when her heel slipped while she was scrambling up the Tryfan on February 22.
Neil Oakes, who happened to be among the group of 18 on this peak when the party split in two, explained how he was ahead of her and turned around to check on his companions.
When he turned around again, he saw Maria falling through the air below him. ‘I knew there was going to be an impact. I was screaming, no, no no!’ The victim had hit the ledge below and died from her serious injuries.
