Viewers and fashion critics are expressing their outrage after finding out that a trans model was included in the surprise lineup for Victoria’s Secret fashion show.
Alex Consani, who is a man who identifies as a woman, shared their thoughts on how exciting it was to make history, without even realizing it.
In the latest cover interview with Teen Vogue magazine, the celeb could be seen reflecting on the history-making walk on the Victoria’s Secret runway.
Alex explained how big an honor it was and how they represented the entire trans community around the globe. Alex also assumed that this title was reserved for someone else, like fellow trans model Valentina Sampaio, but that was not the case after popping up in the Victoria’s Secret campaign in 2019.
While nervous and excited, and first, the pressure was certainly on to do her best, the star continued. But after the show was over, Alex said that it was incomparable to any other feeling in the world.
However, Alex did stress to the press how there was so much more work that needed to be done in terms of representation and also spoke about the challenges that fellow models like her face. ‘It’s hard to advocate for change when many people in power are actively working against minority groups,’- the statement shared read.
