Ziya Paval and her partner Zahad who hail from the southern state of Kerala made history recently.

The pair were said to be in the process of gender transition when they opted to take a major step in their lives. This step included having a child.

Ms Paval who claims she always wished to be a parent was assigned the gender of a male at birth and now, she’s a female.

Zahad was assigned the opposite. His gender at birth was a female and today, he’s a male. Zahad was pregnant and the couple were super excited to welcome a child into the world.

So many people from all over the world were curious about the story and after seeing what it was all about, they have praised the duo for sticking to their guns and not falling to society’s pressure.

The concept of being trans in a conservative nation like India is never easy. But this pair proved all the odds against them wrong. They shared how the goal was to prove that trans people are humans too and they deserve the right to have a child.
