The train was said to be roughly 90 kilometers between Ulm and Sigmaringen, sources have confirmed.

The cause of this crash is currently under investigation, which happened for reasons that are yet to be revealed, the rail operator mentioned. Reports spoke about how a possible landslide might have caused this crash, as there were several severe storms in the region before this. Images of the carriages displayed how hard they were hit but still remained intact, but jackknifed into one another while rolling into the sides.
