A champion skier has reportedly passed away after a horrifying crash at a world-famous ski resort.
Sources from local media outlets shared more about how the incident arose at the same location where several people passed away the same year.
Ellery Curtis was always recalled as the most fearless skier who effortlessly captained her entire college team.
Curtis was a second-team all-American skier in the giant slalom for Dartmouth College. She was placed in eighth position at the NCAA championships in March of 2022.
The 26-year-old was skiing at the Palisades Tahoe Resort in Olympic Valley in California, where she got into the tragic and fatal accident, as per the LA Times.
They shared how a ski patrol team immediately replied and provided on-site medical care. However, the individual succumbed to the injuries.
Tributes began to pour in for her and her loved ones during this difficult time. The athlete reportedly hurt herself on the terrain accessed from the popular K2-22 chairlift.
Curtis’ death marks the fourth death at the resort and the fifth death in the Sierra Nevada region in that year.
