A terrifying hotel fire killed 15 tourists, and that included two children.
The fierce blaze ripped through the hotel in the Indian city of Kolkata as several guests were left with no choice but to jump from their windows to make a quick escape in time.
Several people were rescued from their rooms and the roof of the budget hotel, the state’s police chief shared after the blaze arose.
The death toll has now risen to 15, including two kids and a woman. They added that an investigation had been rolled out to find out what was the real cause of that blaze.
The hotel turned into a massive gas chamber, and it appeared that many people suffocated to death.
Footage shared through social media showed how hotel guests chambered out of their windows and onto rooftops to escape the deadly inferno.
The Rituraj Hotel had a total of 88 guests when this fire erupted. It’s located in the congested business district of Central Kolkata, sources have confirmed.
Nearly a dozen people suffered from serious burn injuries and were said to be undergoing serious treatment for the wounds. Sources claim that building fires are very common in the region as the nation lacks firefighting equipment and also disregards safety regulations.
