Authorities in Spain to Portugal as well as Italy, and France have now issued alerts to people to seek proper shelter and stay protected from the summer season’s first major heatwave.
Portugal has similarly issued an advisory for people not to go out during the hottest hours and also reported several cases of heat strokes and burns as the heatwave took center stage.
In the neighboring parts of Spain, temperatures soared to 46 degrees centigrade towards the south, while the current month is said to be the hottest on record.
A mega fire ripped through the famous resort of Izmir in Turkey, right before strong winds fanned the flames and sent them towards the neighborhoods and residential locations.
In the wake of the fire, the airport had made the decision to shut down all flights temporarily, with travelers told to be mindful of alerts as they come by the minute.
