Tens of thousands have reportedly gone about signing a new petition that demands Tony Blair’s knighthood honor to be stripped away.
According to local media reports, the petition has managed to garner plenty of attention and signatures where many feel that the latest honor granted for the former prime minister of the UK is beyond ridiculous and something that they feel he does not deserve.
At the moment, recent statistics have gone on to show how the petition is being signed at a rate of one every two seconds and it’s sure to break plenty of records if it continues to take place at this pace.
Today, the signatures reportedly broke the barrier of 350,000 with so many Britons signing it left and right.
The former Labour Prime Minister was undoubtedly the country’s most controversial leader and was also one of the most controversial names to be included in the Queen’s New Year Honors List.
Critics have even gone as far as calling the decision to bestow a knighthood on Tony Blair a ‘kick in the teeth’ to all of the people of Afghanistan and Iraq. And that’s in relation to how so many anti-war protesters blame him for carrying out the chaos over there.
Moreover, the former Labour leader also received plenty of backlash on social media as others called him a huge war criminal with so many military mothers threatening to return their Elizabeth crosses that were handed out to bereaved families.
The former Prime Minister faced immense criticism for so many years as he sent out troops into both Iraq as well as Afghanistan, which is a decision that so many referred to as an absolute disaster.
