Tom Hanks and wife Rita Wilson appeared to have scolded a worker who approached them on the red carpet at Cannes Film Festival in France.
The 66-year-old Forest Gump star and his film producer wife took to the red carpet on Tuesday evening to celebrate the premiere of the actor’s new movie Asteroid City.
For the occasion, Hanks wore a black tuxedo with a white shirt and a bow tie while his wife dazzled in a sparkling black dress completed by a long black cloak.
What caught the attention of the viewers, however, was the manner in which Wilson and Hanks talked to one of the staffers who approached them for unknown reasons.
In photos taken at the scene, the actor and actress were clearly irritated while pointing fingers and scowling at the staffer as he explained some issues.
The nature of the supposed dispute remains unclear, as it is unclear whether the pair were frustrated directly with the staffer or the news that he brought as they posed for pictures on the red carpet.
Elsewhere during this appearance on the red carpet, the Hanks and Wilson were seen smiling from ear to ear and keeping each other close to their side.
The actor’s movie, which premiered at the festival, is set in a fictional American town in the 1950s and revolves around a Junior Stargazer convention that is “spectacularly disrupted by world-changing events.”
The news comes just a month after Hanks and Wilson celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary by sharing a photo in which they posed with a cake that read ‘Happy Anniversary.’
“35 years of marriage. April 30 1988. Love is everything,” the Sleepless in Seattle star captioned the photo.
