Tom Cruise reportedly has his eyes set on Shakira and is “extremely interested” in getting to know the singer.
The 60-year-old Hollywood stud and the 46-year-old Hips Don’t Lie hitmaker were recently spotted enjoying each other’s presence at the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Florida.
It appears, however, that there’s more to the pair’s joint appearance at the highly publicized event than meets the eye.
As a source told Page Six, the Mission Impossible star has “chemistry” with Shakira and is “extremely interested in pursuing her.”
The news comes less than a year after Shakira split with her soccer boyfriend Gerard Piqué as the latter was accused of having an affair.
“It’s been tough not only for me, but also for my kids. Incredibly difficult. I can only say that I put everything I had into this relationship and my family,” she told Elle last year.
As for Tom Cruise, his marriage to Katie Holmes came to a shocking end over a decade ago. According to the reports, the actress “wanted out of the marriage badly” over her husband’s association with the Church of Scientology and the alleged strict set of rules the marriage came with.
Speaking of Tom’s association with Shakira, the source suggested the singer might find comfort in the actor considering that he is a “nice-looking guy” and a “talented” person.
“Shakira needs a soft pillow to fall on, and that could be Tom,” the insider added.
The rumors of romance come days after Cruise won an MTV Movie Award for Best Performance over his role in Top Gun: Maverick.
“Hi, everyone, thank you so much for this award. I make these films for you. I love you. I love entertaining you. How much you enjoy it, how much you appreciate it. There is no better feeling and I hope you enjoy this,” the actor said in his acceptance speech.
