Tragic reports have confirmed the death of an adorable toddler who passed away just two days before his second birthday.
According to reports from local media outlets, the child was left inside a hot vehicle by his foster dad for nearly eight hours, as per the cops.
Hudley Owen Hamlett was found in an unresponsive state on Thursday after his legal guardian left him inside the vehicle while he jetted off to work in Virginia, as per reports from officials.
The tragedy took place when Dalton arrived at the Chestnut Academy day care at about 3:30 pm to pick up Hudley, but was later informed that the toddler had not been dropped off that day.
This is when he was found strapped to the back of the vehicle that his foster dad had driven to work that same morning.
Dalton had left the child in the vehicle while he worked his usual eight-hour shift and didn’t realize that until he went to the daycare in the afternoon hours, as per officials.
Staff at the daycare, as well as the first responders, attempted to save the child’s life, but it was in vain. He was pronounced dead at the hospital, as shared by ABC 13. Temperatures on that day were said to have hit 88 degrees during the afternoon, authorities have confirmed.
