Comedian Jimmy Kimmel is turning heads after making some striking comments about Hollywood actor Matt Damon.
The star mentioned how he was beyond thrilled that Matt Damon may not be attending this year’s event. But that’s not all. He similarly highlighted how he wished the actor would never be nominated again.
In case you may not be aware, Kimmel and Damon do not share the best of friendships. Kimmel has always joked about how the actor Matt Damon was responsible for the famous snafu.
“I believe his presence in some way, shape, or form, caused this mixup of envelopes”- he laughed. But as one can expect, jokes of this kind did not go down too well with the star’s fans.
“I could not be more thrilled that he will be a no-show this year. In fact, I do hope that I never see this man again”- he further continued, and “I hope he won’t get nominated”- he further added.
Clearly, the choice of words was rather strong and bizarre. And people felt that jokes aside, they should never have been used in the first place.
For those who may not be aware, Kimmel will be the host of this year’s Oscars event.
The star comedian says he’s worried that this year might have some drama, similar to what took place in the last one.
Therefore, he’s worried that the organizers might be setting him up for a disaster and he put special emphasis on potentially getting slapped.
The Oscars took a turn for the worst in 2022 when Chris Rock was slapped by Will Smith for making a joke about his wife’s bald head.
The actor was soon banned from the high-profile and prestigious event, despite issuing an apology to the public, organizers, industry members, and the comedian too.
