The student was detained by immigration officials during an interview to finalize the US citizenship, as per the AP. Since the early days of the Trump administration, immigration officials have decided to arrest and detain several college students around the country.
Many of these individuals were found guilty of taking part in on-campus demonstrations regarding the Israel-Hamas conflict that resulted in more than 52,000 deaths of Palestinians.
Mohsen Mahdawi is one of the first among those students to secure his freedom after contesting his arrest.
He stood firm outside the Vermont courthouse and aimed his words directly at President Trump and his cadre, declaring in a defiant tone how he’s not afraid of anyone, especially the President.
He mentioned that he was a strong believer in justice and equality for all, as these were fundamental human rights.
