Heavily armed officers were seen storming a busy street in Sydney in broad daylight and also fired shots at two vehicles to foil what the cops shared was a planned underworld hit near a daycare center.
Motorists watched as the Tactical Operations Unit, PolAir, Dog Squad, and State Intelligence Command swooped on two vehicles in the western suburb of Revesby shortly before the clock struck 4 pm on Tuesday.
It’s believed that the officers fired bean bag rounds, which are pouches packed with lead pellets designed to put an end to activity but not kill. This would bring calls to a halt.
Dramatic footage showed officers in bulletproof vests pounding on the sides of the silver Mercedes and shouting long orders as one officer aimed the firearm at an occupant.
In just a timespan of a few seconds, two men were dragged from a vehicle and pinned to the ground. Further down the River Road, an SUV peppered with bullet holes was boxed by the cops before officers hauled a third individual from the driver’s seat.
Inside the vehicles, the cops uncovered two pistols, balaclavas, and body-worn cameras. Three men between the ages of 18, 19, and 26 were arrested at the scene as investigations continue.
