A fuming mother from Florida is expressing her deep concern surrounding her daughter’s school after they launched a ‘trans support plan’ without asking for her consent on the matter.
According to reports, the school was identified as of January Littlejohn who is justifying the act by calling out her 13-year-old and her group her friends that happened to be obsessed with the LGBTQ community.
The 13-year-old says that when her friends started to identify themselves as trans or even non-binary, her daughter was so confused. She revealed that although she knew her gender at first, looking at all these people has left her in a dilemma.
Therefore, the mother revealed that she spoke to a counselor for her daughter to try and clear this confusion and work out the concern and confusion. She even began to do some research relating to the controversial subject.
But just weeks down the line, the mother says the school’s administration started to speak to her daughter about some very personal things like changing her name or even choosing the bathroom of preference that she would feel comfortable in.
This case had been cited around two years back by Florida’s Governor and once again in his ‘Don’t say gay Bill’.
While signing the much talked about document, the Governor announced his decision to put a halt to schools’ interference on the subject of gender involvement. He even revealed how he wished to protect the parents of schools like Littlejohn.
The school revealed that they were just trying to help the child as she tried to navigate through unchartered waters while providing support in the best of ways.
And just in case that wasn’t enough, the school also refused to meet the mother alone to discuss the matter, citing how no gender discussions would be entertained without consent obtained by her daughter legally.
