12- and 13-year-old girls killed in NYC subway surfing tragedy are ID’d: ‘Full of life, and taken from us far too soon’


Tragic reports are speaking about the deaths of two young girls who were horrifically killed in a Brooklyn subway surfing tragedy.

Now, their remains have been ID’d as the victims’ devastated father sobbed how his daughter was full of life and taken away far too soon.

Zemfira Mukhtarov from Brooklyn and Ebba Morina from Manhattan were both found unconscious and unresponsive on top of a Brooklyn-bound J train at the Marcy Avenue Broadway subway station in Williamsburg around 3:10 am on Saturday, as per the cops.

Zemfira and Ebbas were with a group of 15 other teens inside the train before they were found on the roof, witnesses shared. Officers were seen speaking to three teen boys inside the station, then driving two of the boys away in a cruiser.

Subway surfing stunts are fueled by social media and have been on the upswing in recent years as teens have posted videos of the brazen act, according to officials.

Six people were killed in such incidents in 2024, and five people lost their lives in the dangerous stunts in 2023. Between the years 2018 to 2022, just five people were killed while riding on top of trains.
