Kim Kardashian is facing mega criticism after her 12-year-old daughter North West showed off a dermal piercing that many felt was so inappropriate for someone her age.

The piercing consisted of a small anchor placed right under her skin and was displayed in a video shared to her account on TikTok.

This is where North did not shy away from the process and the finished look that featured silver studs and a blue gem.

Some fans and observers online were quick to voice concerns over how appropriate and safe such kinds of body modifications are, while others called out Kim for not being strict enough as a parent to stop her child from having such procedures at this age.

Dermal piercings on the hand are known for carrying higher risks of infection, rejection, or some kind of injury. This is especially true if the wearer is still growing and is likely less careful about hygiene related to the hands.

Kim also replied in recent interviews by stating that North has always had a strong sense of style since a very young age. She is therefore asking for grace from the public and requesting people not to pass judgment too quickly, especially since she’s in charge.
