Kamala Harris has just made it clear that she’s stepping away from electoral politics.
The former US vice president made it clear during her last candid interview with Stephen Colbert that she currently has zero desire to return to the system which she dubbed as broken.
The former US Vice President and 2024 Democratic presidential nominee showed up on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Thursday during her first televised interview since losing out on the elections to Donald Trump last November.
This interview came just one day after Harris confirmed that she would not be running for the position of California’s governor, which is a race that she had been widely expected to lead as per The Guardian.
‘Recently, I made the decision that I just don’t wish to return to a broken system,’ she declared in front of Colbert, prompting a shocking groan from the studio audience.
Some, including the host, called that comment out as harrowing for obvious reasons. Calling herself as a devout public servant, she detailed more about how the democracy has now become so fragile and therefore the system needs to be strong enough to defend it.
