New York & New Jersey Declare ‘State of Emergency’ After Extreme Weather


Both New York City and New Jersey have declared a state of emergency as millions in the Northeast were seen drenched in heavy rain.

As a result of poor weather, hundreds of flights in New York and the surrounding areas were canceled or delayed, leading to major inconvenience.

This is the second incident in recent times where New Yorkers and millions of others in the Northeast faced flash floods for the second time in two weeks as severe thunderstorms and torrential downpours slammed the East Coast.

Some workers in New York and New Jersey were sent home early for this reason ahead of the evening commute. Meanwhile, the city’s emergency management agency has since then urged people to avoid any kind of unnecessary travel and warned that street, basement, and transit flooding were very possible.
