New York firefighter and football star killed in horror motorcycle crash aged just 36 leaving behind young daughter


A New York firefighter and football player passed away in a horrifying motorcycle crash at the age of just 36.

The late firefighter is said to have left behind a huge family, including a one-year-old daughter. Joseph M. Herman, who was a 36-year-old firefighter at Ladder Company 111 in Brooklyn, passed away on Sunday after a terrifying crash on the Southern State Parkway.

He was believed to have been thrown off his vehicle while trying to switch lanes, as revealed by the State Police. Herman, who also played for the FDNY’s football team, was then hit by another motorcycle and later pronounced dead at the hospital.

He is currently survived by his wife, his mother, his stepfather, and his daughter named Lacy Leigh Herman, who is nearly 2 years old. As per the FDNY Foundation, they’ve gone on to establish a Joseph M. Herman scholarship fund to honor the late father. Donations could be made on the organization’s website.
