JUST IN: Heartbreak As ‘America’s Got Talent’ Star Contestant Skilyr Hicks Dies Aged 23


Skilyr Hicks, a former contestant from America’s Got Talent has passed away at the young age of 23.

According to local media reports, the 23-year-old was found dead at her friend’s home which is located in South Carolina on Monday.

The heartbreaking news was revealed by her own grieving mother, who stated that her daughter will always continue to live on through her music.

The shocking announcement was made to TMZ, breaking so many hearts of those who got to know the young talent through the show.

At the moment, it still isn’t very clear how the young star passed away. However, Skilyr’s mother has reportedly informed media outlets that her cause of death was related to substance abuse and an array of mental health issues too.

Skilyr made heads turn when she wrote down a brilliant song and went on to perform that same number in Season 8 of the hit US-based NBC talent show. At that time, she was just 14 years in age.

The young performer managed to beat all the odds against her and make it to round two but was then immediately eliminated, right before the start of the show’s live rounds.

Skilyr leaves behind her mom and four siblings who are beyond heartbroken at the sudden death of their loved ones.

With deep pain in her eyes and voice, the mother named Jodi revealed to TMZ how her daughter was found in a lifeless state on Monday, December 6th. In addition to that, she revealed how she had no clue about the owner of the property at which her daughter’s body was found.

The young talent revealed during the show’s auditions how she learned to play the guitar while mourning the death of her father, whom she was really close to.
