A teacher is going viral online after berating a student who reportedly sat for the pledge.
A viral video uploaded on the popular social media app TikTok showed the teacher yelling and taunting the student for refusing to get up for the pledge.
After finding the behavior totally inexcusable in his books, he begins to scold him in a mocking manner and that didn’t go down too well with viewers online. Ever since the video was featured on social media, the school has decided to take action against the teacher and suspend him for the behavior.
In the same way, an investigation regarding the matter has also begun, leaving many in a state of shock at the tone and mannerisms being displayed in classrooms like these across the nation.
Sources revealed how the incident took place at a high school in Florida and since then, the video has enmassed a massive 1.4 million views as of Saturday, which is when it was published.
The unnamed teacher from Bradenton High School asks the student in an angry manner, “Are you just going to sit there on your butt and do absolutely nothing?”
“If you want to do something, just get up and do it… I will defend my nation to the very end”- the teacher continues.
But the student fails to react harshly despite the instigating behavior. He simply says, “I won’t hurt you!”
This is when the teacher can be heard telling the student to go back from where he came from. “Mexico or Guatemala, or wherever! Just go back!”- he says and in response, the student claims he was born in the US.
The teacher reacts in absolute disbelief. He’s shocked and surprised that he’s from the US. “You’re born in the US and you won’t stand for the Pledge of Allegiance!”- he again angrily questioned.
A rep from the school says the teacher has been removed from his teaching duties and will now undergo an investigation.
