A wildfire is rapidly growing into the area of the Northwest of Los Angeles, forcing thousands of people with no choice but to evacuate on an emergency basis.

What is now being called out as the Canyon Fire was first thought to be about 30 acres, but this giant blaze has since scorched to a staggering 1500 acres across LA and Ventura counties.

As per the officials, the fire broke out on Thursday at about 2 pm in the northeast of Piru, which is an unincorporated town with just 2000 residents.

The Canyon Fire was fueled by a serious heat wave that experts had warned about in the past. Temperatures managed to hit 100 degrees near Lake Piru as per the National Weather Service.

Officials have now said that the fire is moving far away from Piru but is moving east toward Interstate 5 in Los Angeles County.

This presents a major threat mostly to the Hasley Canyon, Val Verde, and Hathaway Ranch, as well as the many power lines in this area. Kathryn Barger, who chaired the board, has now urged citizens to take evacuation orders seriously as the threat is huge. The conditions are now extremely hot with low humidity, and that means flames can spread with an alarming speed.
