A tragedy unfolded in Slidell, Louisiana, during the morning hours, when a five-year-old child was allegedly run over and killed by his own grandma.
The victim was identified as Carson Lawson while he was standing in his family’s driveway waiting for the school bus. He was declared dead at the scene, sources have confirmed.
As per the Slidell Police Department, his grandmother, Kristen Anders, drove a giant SUV out of the driveway at about 7 am, unaware that Carson was directly in front of it.
Her car backed in overnight, and then she made an attempt to move forward. Investigators shared how she was impaired by the consumption of alcohol and the CNS depressants she was on during the time of the incident. Since then, she’s been charged with homicide.
Carson’s mother shared a heartbreaking statement on this front: “My baby boy is gone!’- she revealed and called it the most traumatic and devastating scenario that she’s ever had to go through in her life.
‘My baby boy is gone,”- she cried again, adding how the family is in a state of mourning right now, and slammed it as any parent’s worst nightmare.
