Naming a child is never easy and that’s especially true when you happen to be a new parent.

 

This next story is about a mother who says her gran refuses to take her baby’s name seriously. Moreover, she’s referring to it as a major joke and has even vowed never to speak to her again because she isn’t a fan of the name Lucy.

Speaking on the famous online platform Reddit, the woman explained how she is beyond baffled at how her own relative would behave in this manner. She really did rain on her parade of having her first baby and now refuses to talk because she thinks her granddaughter is too young to name a child. 

Disappointed as ever, the woman mentioned how she could not believe that anyone would find such behavior alright. “I am upset, I am furious, but I am above all sad! Who in their right mind would find this to be alright?”- she continued. 

In their family, it’s a tradition to keep the baby’s name as a surprise so others can keep guessing until the last second. So keeping in line with just that, this gran adds how she was baffled to see how her own grandchild refused to take her into consideration before naming the first new addition to their family. 

The grandmother says she was the most excited of the bunch to welcome the baby but hearing more about the name had her so upset. “I quilted a blanket for her, got her toys, and whatnot. And that’s the sort of respect you’re giving me!”- she lashed out. 

Now, this young mom of one wants advice on how to make things better. She also doesn’t know what she did wrong so is asking to see what others have to say. What do you think about this perplexing matter?
