A bronze statue of Donald Trump was recently unveiled in South Dakota to a half-empty auditorium.
The incident arose as a huge number of protesters started to line up outside. Trump’s life-size monument is the newest addition to the City of Presidents in Rapid City. This is the name given to a privately funded arts project that rolls out statues of all sitting presidents.
Republican Congressman Dusty Johnson attended the ceremony and rolled out a special video message to the president.
Mr. President, we are here in Rapid City, just about to unveil your statue!’- the message read before it was handed off to a young individual named Samantha.
President Trump, Sir, thank you so much for everything you are doing for our nation. We are so grateful to you out there in South Dakota, it reads.
But when it was time to showcase the reality of the audience, it was mostly empty, but those who were present were seen cheering away.
The artist behind the statue shared that he was not the biggest fan of Trump, and he really took his time to make the final product.
‘I appreciate some of the things he did, but I am not crazy about him like many individuals, ‘ the post read.
