One of the world’s deadliest snipers has arrived in Ukraine and shared a chilling message with the Russian invaders.
Known only as ‘Wali’, the 40-year-old sniper whose real name remains confidential for safety reasons is a Canadian veteran who served in the Royal Canadian 22nd Regiment and fought in the Afghanistan War between 2009 and 2011.
In 2015, Wali and his team were deployed to Iraq to fight ISIS. During their deployment, the team historically shot a terrorist from more than two miles away.
Following his retirement, Wali settled down and welcomed a baby boy with his wife. He has since the war in Ukraine came out of his retirement and vowed to fly across the sea to fight the invaders.
Now, Wali has already arrived and settled in Kyiv where he has issued a warning to Putin and his soldiers.
“I don’t like the idea of shooting anyone. But when the time comes to squeeze the trigger I won’t hesitate,” the sniper told DailyMail.com.
“If Putin really wants Kyiv he is going to have to pay a huge price. Nobody wants the Russians here and everyone will resist. The damage we can do to them will be crazy. They will lose so many lives it will become another Stalingrad.”
Wali has since his arrival in Ukraine only revealed that he is situated in a “strategic location” with a good overview of the capital and the incoming Russian troops.
The sniper went on to warn the Russians saying “they won’t know what hit them” when they try to take over the city defended by Ukrainians who refuse to give up.
“This is a huge, built-up city, not some village. Looking out from where I am now I can see so many structures and buildings to shoot from, so many places to hide weapons and launch ambushes from. They won’t know what has hit them,” Wali added.
“The Russians have already failed to take Kharkiv and Mariupol, which are smaller cities. There is no way they can hold on to Kyiv. It will be better for everyone if they decide not to attack.”
