Joe Biden recently went through a major Mohs surgery, which is the name given to a procedure that’s used to treat skin cancer.
The news was confirmed by a representative of the former president, who shared more details about his condition after he was seen sporting a bandage on top of his forehead.
As per reports from Mayo Clinic, the surgery involved cutting away thin layers of the skin until there were no signs of cancer. The goal of this entire procedure is to get rid of all the skin cancer without harming the healthy skin that surrounds it.
The news comes after Inside Edition published a video of Biden on Thursday, leaving the church in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. He had a giant wound on his forehead.
In February of 2023, while he was still happened to be in office, Biden had a cancerous skin lesion removed from his chest. As per the White House physician at the time, the biopsy confirmed that the small lesion was basal cell carcinoma. All the cancerous tissue was successfully removed’- he mentioned in the letter at the time.
The doctor explained how the basal cell carcinoma lesions don’t typically spread like more serious cancers but do have the potential to get bigger in size, resulting in a more significant issue as welll as rise challenges for surgical removal.
