Tammy Slaton has finally chosen to face her fears and undergo skin removal surgery.

Sharing more details during an exclusive interview with PEOPLE magazine, the 1000-Lb sisters star opened up about the overwhelming emotions that she felt after she got approved for the long-awaited surgery amid her incredible weight loss journey.

After nearly six years and losing close to 500 pounds, she shared that she finally said yes to the surgery. At the time, the star shared how she felt so overwhelmed by the news and was super excited.

‘I worked really hard for all of this, and now it’s here’- she explained. The star also mentioned how she’s pretty sure it was noticeable on her face how immediately shocked and overwhelmed with joy she was.

At the start, the star says she underwent bariatric surgery in 2022 and then traveled to Pittsburgh for her skin removal with a plastic surgeon at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. ‘The only thing I could think of at that time was the sandwich’- she explained in a joking manner about her doctor’s name.
