Renowned singer Shakira has reportedly broken up from her boyfriend of 11 years, Gerard Pique.
According to reports from local media reports, the star couple has decided to call it quits after being in a relationship for 11 years. The couple also had a loving family comprising two children together.
The news comes amid the 45-year-old singer from Columbia releasing a public statement in the press about how she is no longer associated with the famed soccer player and has split up.
The star’s statement was published via her social media account, leaving fans and followers devastated beyond words can describe. Moreover, the statement spoke about how the former couple is devastated to make the announcement but it is something that needed to be done.
“We regret to confirm that we are parting ways. For the well being our beautiful kids, who are our biggest and highest priority, we would ask you all to respect their privacy. We would also like to thank you all for your great understanding”- they went on to mention.
The ex-power couple has been tainted by plenty of rumors on social media that the duo had been having some trouble in their relationship for a while now but no one really knew the real reason behind the matter as more and more rumors started to arise on social media.
The couple was also said to be living separately for a while now and it was the Columbian singer who was the first person to initiate the split in the relationship.
Shakira has reportedly hinted at the great disharmony between the duo in her latest single where the lyrics caught many people’s eyes and had many instigating and speculating as to what was going wrong.
“To make you complete, I had to break into pieces. I was warned but I did not listen. I soon realized that your love is false”- the track’s lyrics go on to reveal.
