Superstar Adele is making the headlines again and this time around, it’s because of a recent remark she made at the Brit Awards 2022.
Right after receiving an accolade for being the gender-free Artist of the Year, Adele made a comment that surprised so many of her fans. And while some approved big time, others were left shocked and horrified.
Huge sounds of cheers filled the air, right after Adele boldly declared to the audience how much she loves and adores being a woman.
Now, feminists are hailing her words to the core and declaring the following: “Thank God she has said it!”
But on the other hand, so many trans-rights campaigners are going about branding the celeb as being a TERF which is a derogatory term.
This makes the star singer at the center of huge controversy and row between her transgender fans and her feminist fans, as revealed by local media outlets.
The Brits have gone about axing separate categories for male and female awards for titles like the best solo and the best international acts for the year 2022 and that’s so they can avoid upsetting several different artists that like to identify themselves as non-binary.
And in case you’re wondering or thinking of a notable example, well, there’s Sam Smith of course!
As Adele collected her prized possession, she was very outspoken to mention the following amid a huge uproar from a very cheerful audience: “I truly understand why the name of this particular award has changed. But I really love being a woman and being a female artist, I do, and I am really proud of all of us”- she concluded.
But some Adele fans are not happy and they claim the superstar has offended all non-binary people out there and branded herself as a TERF which is an informal way to say feminist who prefers to exclude the rights of trans women.
