Former first lady Michelle Obama is finally addressing the growing rumors about her and her husband Barack having serious marital issues.
Michelle opened up about how she understands where the rumors came from, as she was not by her partner’s side at some notable high-profile events like Trump’s inauguration and Jimmy Carter’s funeral.
During that time, she says that she made a personal decision not to attend as she was in Hawaii on vacation.
However, one insider shared how she simply couldn’t be bothered and had no interest in being there, which she has neither confirmed nor denied.
She told the host during her recent podcast appearance that ever since she left the White House in 2017, she’s worked so hard to redefine who she is as a person and independent woman.
She’s got some newfound freedoms, and that’s something that society has trouble accepting.
Michelle shared how she was so hesitant in the past to say no to invites coming her way because she felt a certain need not to disappoint people.
‘Many cannot fathom the fact that I am my own persona and I can make choices for myself. Therefore, they had no other thing to say but make stuff about me divorcing my husband!’- she continued.
