A trans BMX freestyle rider who served as an Olympic alternate for Team USA is now facing serious backlash and widespread condemnation after sharing shocking messages on social media that celebrated the death of MAGA activist Charlie Kirk.
This shocking and disgusting behavior has prompted the USA Cycling to stress more on atheletes to maintain strict code of conduct and refrain from such actions, espeically when they are representing the country.
Calls continue to grow to force the cycling association to mention that she’s no longer affiliated with them or the national team program and that her views don’t represent the organization as a whole.
Chelsea Wolfe shared through an Instagram Story more about Kirk’s killing with the caption, ‘We Did It!’ and that was followed up by another post that mentioned additional remarks, which critics called out as sick and depraved, as per multiple outlets that captured the disappearing posts before getting expired.
In a statement shared after the posts went viral, USA Cycling mentioned how the opinions of current and former national team athletes are their own and don’t reflect those of USA Cycling.
The federation’s reply comes after a surge of complaints sent to the governing body after screenshots of Wolfe’s Instagram Stories circulated widely online.
