Germany’s Oktoberfest was forced to stay shut after a major bomb threat, which cops linked to a deadly fire in a home rigged with explosives.
One person passed away near the house fire, with gunshots also heard from a distance, and the police think the perpetrator could be behind another major bomb threat to the iconic beer festival.
During the early hours of this morning, emergency services were called to reports of a major fire and a series of explosions at a home in the north of the host city of Munich.
A bomb squad was dispatched as the cops shared how the property was rigged with explosives and then torched, sending a huge column of smoke into the sky.
A badly injured male was found at a short distance away and later passed away from his injuries, the cops shared.
Another report indicated that a man was suspected of sparking the bomb fire in his parents’ home before taking his own life, but cops did not
