The recently engaged superstar Taylor Swift just dropped her latest album, dubbed ‘The Life of a Showgirl,’ and it’s drawn a huge slew of negative publicity online, with some going as far as to suggest that it was a rush job.
The backlash she’s faced from fans and news outlets is not too surprising, as many used it as a comparison to other very successful albums of the past.
Others found it hard to relate the concept of showgirl to Swif,t while some felt she didn’t need to diss other people like exes, foes, and enemies.
Another fan called it completely incompatible with the showgirl aesthetic, and then a third added how hard she’s trying to sell, but it might not have gone as planned.
Some people felt that the shorter and less impressive album was due to her very tiring Eras Tour. A leading critic called it a hesitant, conservative proposal, and sometimes followed in the wake of her pupils. It went on to dub the 12-track compilation as rarely brilliant and, towards the end of it, downright forgettable.
If that was not enough, trolls slammed the star for baring skin to make the album skin, which is definitely not appreciated, considering how many young fans look up to her as a role model. What do you think?
