Danny Masterson from the hit and iconic television series That 70s Show has recently been given a jail sentence of 30 years.
The star who made a huge name for himself from the popular American sitcom has been deemed guilty by the court for assault, local media outlets have confirmed. And the news has sent shockwaves across the industry.
The judge mentioned how the victim’s impact statements were taken into consideration during the hearing and that entailed how two women were brutally assaulted by the star while the third’s count had been dismissed.
Chilling words from the statements are now going viral on social media including, ‘when you assaulted me, you stole from!’ She continued to mention how it was like theft of the spirit.
The incident arose in the year 2002 and then years later in 2020, the actor was also arrested and put into jail. But then, he was declared not guilty to three counts of felony assault, right after the accusations arose from the three different individuals.
Moreover, one of the victims happened to be one of his own former girlfriends. Meanwhile, the celeb’s first trial did end due to a deadlock decision amongst the jury.
During that time, all of the victims were members of the Church of Scientology.
And they felt great hesitation in approaching the cops as their teachings restricted this act of reporting things to the police.Another victim did speak about how he ended up shoving a pillow into her face while doing the act in 2003 and another added how he entered her room while she was sleeping in 2001.
So in the end, the LA Country DA office tried to reopen the case again with a new set of jurors and that’s when the accusers were again given the chance to put forward their claims.
It just makes me wonder why it took so long for them to step forward. I understand they didn’t want to go against their beliefs but, when your violated… your violated and God would not have been mad for them looking for justice .
Because the trauma is so deep. You have to be female to understand.
The victim is shamed by the vulgar stripping of all dignity and power. The humiliation of publicly describing horrible acts done on one is an additional injury to one’s soul! Imagine being forcefully bound and sodomized and then having to describe that experience publicly in detail. Are you getting even an inkling of why many rape victims don’t report.
I agree with you 💯 it’s horrible what we let them get away with thou, God will take care of them believe that.
