A 13-year-old boy was reportedly shot in the head outside a Dunkin’ Donuts outlet in Queens on Monday morning.
The incident reportedly left him clinging to life, the cops shared. The boy was struck when a gunman started to fire at him at about 8:20 am in front of the shop at the corner of Linden and Springfield boulevards in Cambria Heights, as confirmed by the cops.
Cops couldn’t immediately confirm if the teen was headed to school at the time when he was shot, but the scene is just blocks from the school and a few others.
The youthful-looking suspect was last witnessed donning a white colored hoodie, white sneakers, and carrying a black colored backpack. He is believed to have run off after the shooting took place, as confirmed by sources. The victim was taken to Cohen Children’s Medical Center, where he remained in critical condition by the afternoon hours.
A passerby said she spotted the ailing teen who needed serious help and therefore jumped in to assist by calling 911 for emergency help.
‘When I got out of my car, I was about to walk inside the store. I heard another little child say, ‘He’s dead! He’s dead!’- recalled one woman who didn’t wish to be named or identified.
She tried to get him to breathe and called 911 and kept telling him to breathe, and he just began to cry, she shared. Soon, an ambulance that had been dispatched arrived at the scene.
