A 65-year-old man is being stripped of his residence, despite living in the same location for the past 30 years.
According to local media outlets, Stephen Gibbons says he made a shipping container on his farm in Newport in South Wales since 1992. And for the past 30 years, he has been living in this manner.
Now, shocking reports claim that the council is no longer interested in giving him this space and has ordered him to move.
Stephen says the news has left him sad and on the verge of a breakdown because the council says he has no right or permission to take this location. But that has really baffled him as he’s been here for 3 decades.
“They told me I have just six months to clear this place out. But why?”- he questioned as his entire life and livelihood depended on this region.
But the local authorities are not backing down. They claim Mr. Gibbons has never notified them or even applied for a chance to use the former agricultural-themed space and yard. The area comes complete with 14 sheep, a few horses, and some goats as well. They are all vastly spread across this three-acre land space in St. Brides.
The former tip worker says he appealed the decision but it was in vain. And now, with the deadline coming soon, he doesn’t know what to do.
Stephen’s container comprises three living spaces. There is also a bedroom and a bathroom. And while giving a recent tour of his home, he got emotional. According to him, it has really taken him a while to get his home to look like this.
