Sheriffs were spotted outside the home of Will Smith just days after the veteran actor made headlines by slapping Academy Awards presenter Chris Rock in the face.

The sheriffs reportedly arrived at the actor’s home at around 2.40 pm after receiving a report of a drone flying over the property.

As the sheriff’s office has since confirmed, the drone was already gone by the time they arrived at Will Smith’s property, The Sun reported.

It is not clear who the drone belonged to and who called the police to report the sighting.

The officers’ visit to the King Richard star’s property comes just two days after Smith stormed the stage at Dolby Theatre only to physically assault 94th Academy Awards host Chris Rock.

After slapping the comedian in the face over his G.I. Jane joke aimed at his wife’s baldness, Smith walked off the stage and repeatedly shouted at Rock. Just minutes later, however, he received a standing ovation from the audience while receiving his Best Actor Oscar.

While the actor initially refused to apologize to Rock or make any mention of him, Smith eventually admitted that his behavior was “inexcusable” and “unacceptable.”

“Violence in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive. My behavior at last night’s Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable. Jokes at my expense are a part of the job, but a joke about Jada’s medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally,” the Men in Black star wrote.

“I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness.”

He added: “I would also like to apologize to the Academy, the producers of the show, all the attendees and everyone watching around the world.

“I would like to apologize to the Williams Family and my King Richard Family. I deeply regret that my behavior has stained what has been an otherwise gorgeous journey for all of us. I am a work in progress.”
