Much of the reaction commended the visuals and styling, and some wondered what she had done to her face as it sparked major Botox-gone-wrong rumors.

Critics even accused her of overuse of cosmetic treatments such as fillers and Botox in the past, but this was certainly a little more than usual, and it gave her a huge change in appearance.

Gomez replied to the speculation by confirming that she does get Botox injected but denied having fillers on her face, adding that she was dealing with a flare-up of her underlying condition, which is Lupus Erythematosus. This is what is likely to be the cause of her altered appearance.
