An absolutely beautiful and breathtaking natural phenomenon has taken center stage in the skies of China, leaving residents baffled.
According to local media outlets, the sky was lit up on Tuesday by a stellar and very rare rainbow scarf cloud that dazzled across the night sky and left people in southern China what on earth it is.
The phenomenon is said to be extremely rare and only lasts for a brief period of time. Therefore, those who happened to get a glimpse couldn’t stop taking images of the magnificent skies that seemed to be covered by a startling halo.
The city of Haikou is where the rainbow scarf cloud appeared and it seemed to be nothing less than scenes out of a movie. Sources revealed the exact location for the incident to be the famous island of Hainan.
According to weather experts, the feature arises in the sky when the timing is just right or perfect in this case. It usually happens during the evening hours, so that the sun’s light rays are refracted.
Many called the scenes to be spectacular but had no idea that they would vanish in thin air so abruptly. But those who did get a sighting of the rare phenomenon call themselves blessed to witness something they’ve never heard or seen in their lives.
Images of the multi-colored halo are now going viral on Twitter. The pictures feature a fascinating array of hues including a rainbow crown comprising lots of cyan, fiery oranges, greens, and some yellows as well.
There is also a video clip that’s for 9 seconds. It has gone viral with more than 28 million views generated and nearly 15,000 likes.
