If you’ve witnessed the news recently, there’s a lot of hype surrounding a controversial gesture made by Elon Musk at Trump’s inauguration last week that shocked the masses.
The tech billionaire seemed to let his emotions get the best of him again as he showed a shock at the end of his inauguration rally speech for Trump.
Many likened that to the Nazis but others excused that as a clear sign of autism.
Musk who is also a part of Donald Trump’s organization was not happy with the controversy surrounding the gesture and hoped people would resort to doing more productive things than trying to bring him down with dirty tactics.
During a Saturday Night Live episode a couple of years back, Musk did share how he had Asperger’s which is now known as a presentation of autism spectrum disorder.
Users argued more on the matter, including how gestures such as the one by Musk made at the rally and the term acting weird are symptoms of this condition.
Many people explained how autism symptoms and gestures that appear like targeted hate towards some are usually two very different things.
Firstly, autism causes people to struggle in different situations like social events. It never means that it’s out of cruelty or disrespect. On most occasions, it might not be intentional or not. Now while some struggle to interpret social signs or have difficulties with social settings, it does not mean they jump to taking part in controversial actions.
