Tributes to the late Ryan O’Neal have begun pouring in after the iconic actor’s death at 82.
The Hollywood legend, who was best known for his roles in Love Story, Barry Lyndon, and Paper Moon, died “peacefully,” his son Patrick announced on Friday.
Now, respects to the iconic actor and matinee began pouring in with Barbra Streisand and Mia Farrow leading celebrity tributes.
Barbra, who starred alongside O’Neal in 1972’s What’s Up Doc? And 1975’s The Main Event, wrote: “So sad to hear the news of Ryan O’Neal’s passing. We made two films together, What’s Up, Doc? and The Main Event. He was funny and charming, and he will be remembered.”
Meanwhile, Farrow wished for her Peyton Place co-star to rest in peace as she shared a series of photos showing her and the actor on set.
The tributes come shortly after son Patrick announced Ryan’s passing in a series of heartbreaking posts.
“So, this is the toughest thing I’ve ever had to say but here we go. My dad passed away peacefully today, with his loving team by his side supporting him and loving him as he would us,” the grieving son wrote.
“This is very difficult for my wife Summer and I, but I will share some feelings to give you an idea of how great a man he is. My father Ryan O’Neal has always been my hero. I looked up to him and he was always bigger than life.”
Patrick also applauded his father’s achievements in the entertainment industry and praised him for being not only a highly intelligent actor but also a charming, funny, and humble person.
“As a human being, my father was as generous as they come. And the funniest person in any room. And the most handsome clearly, but also the most charming. Lethal combo,” the grieving son added.
“He loved to make people laugh. It’s pretty much his goal. Didn’t matter the situation, if there was a joke to be found, he nailed it. He really wanted us laughing. And we did all laugh. Every time. We had fun. Fun in the sun.”
