A Russian soldier was pictured in tears after hearing his mother’s voice following his capture in Ukraine.

While Putin continues waging war on Ukraine and its people, countless reports of distressed Russian soldiers who were either captured by Ukrainians or turned themselves in are beginning to emerge.

Among young Russian soldiers clearly traumatized by the sudden invasion of Ukraine is a young man who was fed and taken care of by Ukrainians after laying down his guns.

In the shocking clip that has been circulating social media, the Russian soldier is seen drinking tea and feasting on a snack while a Ukrainian woman is holding up a phone to let him talk to his mother.

After blowing kisses to his mom, the soldier burst into tears before the video was cut off.

In the background, a man could be heard saying: “These young men, it’s not their fault. They don’t know why they are here. They are using old maps, they are lost.”

The video was later shared on Twitter with the following caption: “Russian soldiers, surrender, Ukrainian people will feed you, just surrender.”

The emotional encounter comes shortly after the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense told Russian mothers to come to Kyiv and pick up their captured husbands and sons as they promised to release war prisoners.

“It was decided to give the captured Russian soldiers to their mothers if they come to Ukraine, to Kyiv for them,” Ukrainian officials claimed.

The ministry also provided phone numbers for Russians to call to verify if a certain soldier was killed in combat or captured.

“We Ukrainians, unlike Putin’s fascists, do not fight mothers and their captive children. We are waiting for you in Kyiv!” one official wrote.
