A former Russian Army colonel casually discussed possible battle plans showing the Russian invasion of NATO countries on state TV.
Russia’s state TV channel Rossiya 1 has sparked fresh fears that Putin could be aiming to invade other countries, including NATO members, should he gain control of Ukraine.
Appearing on state TV, retired Russian military colonel Igor Korotchenko pointed at a map showing Baltic states – which consist of NATO and EU members Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia – and the Swedish island of Gotland.
“This is how the scenario for capturing the Baltic countries might look,” he said.
Discussing a potential battle plan for attacking these nations, the colonel suggested Putin would first make “all NATO radars go blind and see nothing” by inflicting a “massive Russian radio-electronic strike,” The Sun reported.
“At this time, on the Swedish island Gotland, Russian military planes land, delivering S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems, and Bastion coastal anti-ship systems,” he said.
Pointing at the sickening war map, Korotchenko focused on the Suwalki gap, which lies between Belarus and Russia’s Kaliningrad, and said Russia could block the entire region to prevent NATO countries from aiding Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia before occupying the three NATO countries and forcing them to pledge allegiance to Russia.
“The astonished West and NATO will know that Russia declares a no-fly zone of 400 km,” the colonel said.
The possible battle scenario also detailed Russia forcing Sweden into perpetual neutrality and blocking it from ever joining NATO while securing a 99-year lease on the island of Gotland.
The disturbing discussion reportedly aired at the end of last year, whereas the footage has now resurfaced following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
