Russian President Putin has confirmed that his hypersonic missile has entered service and will be deployed.
Speaking to local media outlets recently, he reaffirmed his plans to deploy them to ally Belarus later this year.
The news comes after Donald Trump’s threat of a possible escalation in tensions, which was signaled by the deployment of two nuclear submarines directed towards Russia. This is right after threats were made by the former Russian president.
Sitting alongside the Belarus head of state, Putin gushed over his friendly ties and how the military had already selected deployment sites inside Belarus for the intermediate ballistic missile.
He also mentioned how preparatory work is currently ongoing and most likely will be done with it before the end of this year.
Putin added that the first series of these missiles and systems was produced, and now that they are entering military service is a major achievement. Putin has praised its achievements and says that it would not fall prey to targets and threats made by the US over Ukraine.
It spoke more about the weapon’s capabilities, including how they can plunge to a target at speeds up to Mach 10, which are immune to being intercepted.
