JUST IN: Russian Man ARRESTED For Holding A Packet Of HAM In His Hands


A Russian man was arrested after protesting against the war in Ukraine with a packet of ham.

Since the beginning of Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, the people of Russia have begun taking to the streets to protest against war and call for peace.

In response, the Russian authorities arrested and charged thousands of protestors of which some were accused of treason and ordered to pay massive fines.

Among the arrested protesters was also a young man who was dragged from Moscow’s Pushkinskaya Square after wielding a pack of ham.

Miratorg, the brand name of the ham in question, has become the protestors’ anti-war symbol due to the word meaning ‘peace’ if the last part of it is crossed out.

According to the reports, the man in question was apprehended on April 2, whereas he now faces a $600 fine for carrying an ‘anti-war poster.’

“The citizen used a package with a meat product (classic ham) as a means of visual agitation with an inscription with the following content: ‘PEACE!’” Russian Telegram group known as Left Block revealed.

The arrest comes after the Russian government detained some 15,000 civilians who dared to voice their opinion against Putin’s war in Ukraine.

Amid the massive crackdown on anti-war protesters, Putin has also criminalized protesting against the invasion and independent reporting on the war in Ukraine. The use of terms such as invasion and war have also been criminalized in Russia and come with sentences of up to 15 years in prison.
