The body of a 12-year-old boy killed while running on train tracks was recently discovered in the river.
The incident arose after the child was killed after being hit by the train on Wednesday.
The victim was identified as Kollin Showalter, who was declared missing after the incident. His friend Arthur Pollreis was also killed in the tragic and heartbreaking incident, as confirmed by local media outlets.
Authorities shared how they found the boy’s remains during the search at the Neosho River in Labette County, Kansas.
The county sheriff for that area shared the news with his loved ones, whose lives are shattered, while they mourn this tragedy.
Several first responders arrived on the scene just after 12 pm local time after reports of the incident had broken out. Those taking part in the recovery shared how it’s been a tough few days. They expressed their gratitude to every first responder who contributed to this recovery effort.
Sources have confirmed that the body was transported to the Neosho County Coroner as per KWCH. The victim was identified as Kollin Showalter, who was 16 and happened to be walking on the railroad bridge over the Neosha River near Erie, where both friends were hit by the train.
